I was running an FT-897 with 100Watts and a 1/4 vertical strapped to a beach sign with 3 radials on the beach :-). My location for the portable operation was a place called Maraetai Beach which is about an hour east of Auckland City on the eastern coastline of New Zealand. The purpose was to eliminate Auckland noise and see if we can work some DX if we change location close to the sea with a minimal setup, and we had a great night of DX, including working MS0WRC of course.
