A view of one of the little inlets and communities that inhabit Barra.

Airport
You can get to Barra by plane with a daily service from Glasgow. The flight takes about 45 mins which is a lot quicker than the 5 or so hours on the ferry.

Airport Terminal
The airport was visible from the cottage and about a 15 minute walk around the bay to reach it.

International Arrivals
Not that busy when we visited. Tide dependant there are just a couple of flights a day to the Island and back

Runways
Once the tide goes out there’s 3 runways marked out across the beach. Personnel check the sands for debris each day before the plan lands.

Mobile
Myself and Paul mobile on the West coast as we activiate WAB squares

West Coast
Sandy bays and seals on the west coast

Beach DX
On the West coast looking for Stateside

West Coast Dunes
These are the sand dunes just behind the airport where the island is very narrow and you can easily see the sea on both sides form the top of the dunes.

Vatersay
This is the stone causeway that runs between Barra and the Island of Vatersay.
